I don't do Instagram. I don't do Reddit. I don't do Twitter (although I have an account). And I don't do Facebook (except for immediate family).
Instagram is a social media website (most commonly accessed via its app on your phone or tablet) where one uploads pictures only, which others who follow you can see, and then comment on if they desire. You can also choose to follow people with accounts there, and see and/or comment on their pics.
It is owned by Facebook, but it has a far less "social media" feel to it because it revolves only around pictures. When you join it, you can either elect for your pictures to be visible to the whole world, or just to the people who follow you. You can also elect to have people ask for permission to follow you, so that not just anyone can do so, and you can limit your followers to people you know. It is essentially impossible to accidentally upload something to Instagram, because you have to go through a number of steps to do so. The one exception being you have some other social media account (say Twitter or Facebook) set to automatically upload things to Instagram when you also upload it to that other account.
I'm no huge social media person to begin with, but I don't mind Instagram as much, because there's no political/social mumbo-jumbo to get wrapped up in (unless you specifically choose to follow the Instagram accounts of political figures, I guess). In my Insta feed, people I know post pics or short vids of what they're doing (vacations, stuff their kids do, gigs, etc.). I also follow a few well-known musicians on Instagram, like Mark Lettieri for example, because the 60-second videos they post of themselves playing, or demoing new gear, are dynamite.
I use Instagram a lot. Helps promoting the band
Anyway, I just gave it an unfollow.
Looks more like a personal thing than a TFF promoting account...
