He was a good one. And yes, Little Feat was a great band.

Say it ain't so!!! Little Feat was one of my favorite bands. They were awesome in concert. That they survived and continued on after the death of Lowell George is somewhat remarkable. I wonder if Fred Tackett and Bill Payne will be able to carry on?

He had a lot of projects it seems.

Bill Payne has been playing with the Doobie Brothers.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "original member." The core members, including Bill Payne, Kenny Gradney and Sam Clayton have been with the band since almost the beginning. Richey Hayward (one of the best drummers, ever) and Roy Estrada were founders along with George and Payne. Barrere, Clayton and Gradney joined in 1972, giving the band its basic lineup since. Lowell George died in 1979. Hayward died in 2010.

Craig Fuller (of Pure Prairie League) and Fred Tackett joined the band -- I really liked this lineup -- and although Fuller left (he said his physician wife made enough money and he didn't need the gig), Tackett remains to this day.
