Walter Becker's 600+ Guitars Up For Auction

Walter Becker, who with his partner Donald Fagen, etched their own imprint in the world of modern music with their band, Steely Dan. Becker, who died in 2017 was apparently quite the collector of guitars, and now his entire collection is up for auction. Read about it here:

Holy Schnikes! Twenty-three pages of items and I'm only on page seven! This guy had guitars and amplifiers from names I've never heard of before!

And even though it's a three-day auction, everything I've seen so far has already been sold!

The Charlie Parker stand up and Kauer guitars are about it for me. Hope they got a deal on cataloging all that stuff.

I watching and checking out the making of Aja. While Becker was a guitar player, he's not the creator or player of the fantastic guitar sounds on that recording.

Wasn't that Jeff "Skunk" Baxter? I'm not bothering to check...

OK, I lied. I looked it up. Guest guitarists on "Aja" include: Larry Carlton, Steve Khan and Lee Ritenour, as well as Denny Dias, Jay Graydon and Dean Parks. The latter three are unknown to me.

Dias was one of the founding members. Jay Graden is a great guitarist who worked for them as a studio guitarist. I think the same is true with Dean Parks.

I know Skunk Baxter toured with them.. I saw Skunk Baxter when he toured with the Doobie Brothers on the Minute by Minute tour.
