The First Sunday of Summer Thread for 6/23/19

Everyone must be on vacation today. It's already 7:00 a.m and I'm the first to post a "Sunday" thread!

Well, I just returned from vacation, so maybe I'm just ahead of the curve. I spent a week aboard a cruise ship visiting ports of call and glaciers in Alaska. Now it's time to return to the real world.

I did take my KLŌS travel guitar, and played it every day in my stateroom. It was nice having it along for those downtimes. The glaciers and views were terrific, but I can fully understand why everyone I met there is seasonal -- no one wants to live in Alaska year-round! Can't say I blame them.

My last "recovery" day today. Church, pull some weeds, watch some baseball, play some guitar and back to work tomorrow. Have a good Sunday, everyone!

Well, I’m up since 3:15 this morning and just remembered to check in here for the Sunday morning thread.

We’re supposed to get 1.25 inches of rain over the span of today and tomorrow followed by one day of sunshine and then back to rain again for the rest of the week...bummer! Time for a good breakfast and a. Bloody Mary or three with our Sunday morning group of friends

no rest for the weary today. My youngest brother sold his condo the week before last and is packing to move probably as I type. I replaced the 'dead' light fixture above his sink and it turns out the wall switch was dead. Today we replace the GFI outlet in the bathroom and then the part I really dread, move the king size mattress and foundation to the POD.

He's moving a few miles in town so it's not bad as far as moves can go. The apartment he's renting is in a nice neighborhood that I would not mind living in at all. Hopefully I can find a place there when it comes time to sell the house.

He'll be staying here for about a week or so until the apartment is ready, which should be by the 1st of the month.

I've been playing more guitar lately and watching less TV. Hope to keep this trend going.

I seldom get into the "Sunday" threads, but I was up a little earlier today. I had to clean my 45 to use at the shoot this morning, I think I have enough ammo. Seems the younger shooters are winning more than me nowadays, I suspect it should be expected!
Spent a while on guitar yesterday, I've decided my DR clone is my favorite amp, but I have a few more to build, something else may move to the front!

I'm leaving Wednesday for a conference in Omaha so I need to do laundry and pack as much as I can. Half is always packed - back of chargers and cables, travel CPAP and toiletries are always in the suitcase... just skivvies, socks, shirts and a spare pair of jeans. Yard work done yesterday. Maybe I'll take the Mustang out for a cruise.

    Hey Now.......
Was a fairly busy week - hosted a Jam Wed, Ran sound and a Jam Thursday, Really Fun Gig Friday and another Last night. One of the places I played was supposed to have a Fathers Day Brunch last weekend, but had a water outage issue and had to close. Today is the Re-Do of that so I will treat myself to someone else cleaning up afterwards. A lot of stuff going on at home as usual and continued issues with my foot. May have to get another surgery session to address - Oh well.

I say all that to say this.....

It's hot. Hot and humid! With the meds the VA pumps into me, I cannot tolerate the heat very long. Grass is a foot tall around the house from the monsoons we have. I have about the same motivation to mow as a socialist has to listening to the truth. In other words, zero.
And I got sick of the monotonous crap I programmed into my little Mustang I v2. Boring, as everything was "tweaked" to death! Did a factory reset and found many things the engineering team at Fender put in were really good after all.
Enjoying my Black Rifle Coffee Company coffee every day. Good stuff!
Can't afford a vacation. A big day for me is a trip to Dairy Queen for lunch in town. I'll do that at the end of the month when the retirement check hits the bank. Wooo Hoooo!
Going back to the Tele for some Mozart with metal. It's something to do......and doesn't cost much.
I forgot what I was going to say...

We're finally getting beautiful summer weather here! We did a few unproductive but nice things today- mowed the lawn, my mom and stepfather visited, we did Facetime with my daughter, walked to the health food store down the street, finally played the ES-225 through the new Dr. Z, drove the Miata for a while...
I'm gonna go grill some burgers and a link of chourico, maybe have beer with a lime in it.
