    Is cardboard the...

    Path to immortality,

    means to an end,

sad devotion to a lost art?

Whatever roll it plays in the cosmos, I just love smell of a new build.

    Twin Tweed, High Power.

Gonna be a slow build, quite unlike y'all have seen from me before as it isn't already built.

I do hope y'all will enjoy the journey as much as I.

    Cheers!

    Glide feet have to go.

I will replace them with big 1 1/4" rubbers.

So much easier on the floor and other cabs.

I'm looking forward to watching this thing come together. Hats off to you, sir.

I am partial to glides on combos though.

    The speakers are here.

    Weber Alnico CV123's.

I've been busy giving them an early workout.

The good news, they sound fantastic through a variety of circuits.

The bad news, I made the mistake of putting one in my 6G3 clone and it has found a permanent home there.

Now I have to buy another speaker. Oops.

great, now I have even more GAS. I've wanted Cerwin Vega ER123 for years, decades even but the prices and the uncertainty of buying ancient speakers held me back.

I see they come in both ceramic and alnico. I'm thinking of one for my Princeton (I have a 12" baffle). Although I already have a Blue Dog that I bought from Ted himself a long time ago that I was going to use for that amp. I also have a 12" baffle cab for my champ and the CV123 comes in 4 ohms as well. I bet an alnico would sound killer with that champ.

All looking good...... how is the weight progressing with the twin Weber Alnico CV123's.?.......will be watching as you progress the build, as genuine Fender Tweed costings are unbelievably high

methinks he lives in a climate where cooled beverages are already wet and sticky this time of year. Still another couple of months for us.

    Hey Coyote,

Nice to see an old friend/acquaintance here. That’s a beautiful amp. Someday, I am going to own a Tweed amp.

    Congrats,

    Thanks!

It’s good to see you around!

Parts are slowly starting to trickle in and I finished a different build that deserves a thread.

    Cheers!
