Robin Trower Tour 2019
After last year's cancellation due to illness, I feared I might not get a chance to experience a concert by the last guitarist on my to-see bucket list. Last night, I fulfilled that dream by attending the sold-out opening night of Robin Trower's 2019 tour. He and his very tight rhythm section played a 90 minute set that included a lot of his well-known Bridge of Sighs album. Just when I thought I'd heard every trick in his book, he would play something new and different. It was delicious!
The 74 year-old hasn't lost his chops, that's for sure. Well, after 23 studio albums and over 52 years, it's easy to see the man knows his instrument. A comment I made -- and to which some take offense -- is that if Hendrix were alive today, he'd want to sound like Robin Trower.
