Fender Hotrod Deluxe -- No Low End

    Hello,

I have circa 2002 Fender Hotrod Deluxe 112 tube amp that no longer has any low end bass response. The amp is shrill, only outputting midrange frequencies and higher. I inspected the main board for blown components and leaky/bulging capacitors -- there are none. I also replaced the tubes and still have the same issue. I understand component level repair and have a schematic. Can someone give me some a push on what to check?

    Thanks,

    VGuitarist

It's possible you may have a marginal solder joint on one of the tube sockets. If not that then perhaps an issue with the bias-supply voltage. Try re-flowing all of the solder joints on every tube socket and see what happens. If no satisfaction occurs check the appropriate test point to ensure that the bias circuit is operating correctly (remember, you'll be checking for negative DC voltage there).
