    A pair of '60s Fenders

Here's a pic of my 1966 Vibrolux Reverb and a friend's 1965 Deluxe Reverb. I just replaced the tremolo roach and repaired the baffle in his amp.

    Beautiful!
A friend has an original 65 DR that belonged to a guitar player we both worked with off and on.

Killer amps, the both of them.
I've had so many Deluxes I can't recall the precise number. At some point when I didn't own one, they became so expensive as to prevent me from buying another one!

I got one. 100% original (except (maybe) for the tubes). Tell me more about the Vibroluxe.

love me some fenders. i so regret selling my princeton reverb that I bought new in '73/'74. I had it for 32 years and sold it for far far less than I should have and maybe a quarter of what it would cost to replace today.

The Vibrolux Reverb is soooo much fatter and warmer sounding than the Deluxe Reverb. I prefer it by a wide margin- I might be biased- I've owned the amp for almost 30 years and this is the first Deluxe Reverb I've ever played!

The owner of the DR also has a '66 VR just like mine. He gigs heavily and the DR is a backup.

I want a vibrolux reverb in a bad way. My first extraordinary experience with a tele, which was a GVCG black guard, was through a brown tolex '90s 'reissue' vibrolux reverb. There's something about the 2x10 format and a tele that is nearly magical. I've had similar experience since with the ones like yours as well so I know it wasn't a fluke.

As much as I love my VR, I didn't appreciate my Tele until I got a tweed Deluxe clone. I was close to routing the guitar for humbuckers! The fat, gritty sound with more mids made the guitar for me. Now I prefer my Tele with any amp.
