    The Sunday of Joe DiMaggio

    It’s Joe’s birthday today.

I’m the first to the punch today as I’m in Singapore where it’s 12 hours ahead of the east coast. It’s mid afternoon here and 86F/100% humidity. My poor northern blood can’t handle it seeing as I was scraping ice off my windshield about 36 hours ago!!

Just chillin in the A/C and getting ready for a week of meetings. Might go watch “Overlord” at the theatre across the street this evening after dinner at the hawker stall.

DD, I envy you being able to travel and experience Singapore but, being 5 1/2 years into my retirement I sure don’t envy “a week of meetings”.

I had a fun gig last night filling on bass in a friend’s group but didn’t a whole lot of sleep (about four hours) as my wife and I are headed out the door for our usual Sunday morning Bloody Marys and breakfast with friends followed by a buddy’s 65th birthday party. Enjoy the day!

haha! Thanks Laker. Yeah a week of meetings is a grind but the results should be worth it! As bleak as it sounds, I’m quite happy to be in my cube back at the office crunching data and doing research.

Hahaha as a native of the sunny tropics, I’d sure dig Singapore.

Just one piece of advice, DD: while you’re there, beware of the ladies at the bars. Some of them aren’t exactly women, if you know what I mean

Have a great time in Singapore! All work, no play...

I've got a guest coming for a late breakfast. And I'll see both of my kids in just a little while.

    It's a good day.

Enjoying a lazy Sunday. Went to church, came home, listened to the weekly (rebroadcast) episode of "Hearts of Space" and now I'm headed out to get a hot, piping bowl of pho, my favorite dish!

I'll be practicing my alternate-picking etude a lot this afternoon, in preparation for tomorrow lesson.

took advantage of less than freezing weather to restring one bush that had a string of lights fail and string up lights on another bush. I've got one more I hope to do but there's another storm coming tomorrow night into tuesday that might put the kabosh on that idea. I think tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so we'll see what happens.

Went to see Willie Nelson tonight.

Mrs. G and I had a great time.

    Great show.

It is absolutely amazing how he commands the stage.

His voice sounded darn good and still plays circles around me on the guitar.

    A very underrated player.

So many great songs, a musical treasure that I was blessed to see again.
