    Music Man Amp question

Greetings all from new member. I am on fence about making purchase of a Music Man 112 RD Fifty (white or blonde tolex) that is at a local music store. I don't know much about them and can't find a lot of information about that particular model. I do know is sounds great and looks to be in very good condition. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

It will need a complete service/checkup if it hasn't already been done.

That is the one with a preamp/phase inverter tube?

Wasn't Music Man Leo Fender's "in-between" company after Fender and before G&L? I believe the name is now owned by Ernie Ball. The 112 RD 50 is one of those, I believe.

    Re: Music Man Amp question

I believe Leo had nothing to do with the design of the music Man amps. Rumors are that he thought the design was backwards! He felt that a tube preamp with a SS power amp would be a better design.
The blonde "Pinwale" covered amps are more rare, and usually had an EV speaker upgrade. I have one, a 115RD One Hundred that my friend bought new, really nice amp.
