Sunday - First one here, First of the Month

Chill weekend up here in the Deep North. Rainy, warm and humid. Did some remodeling work on the cottage on Friday and Sat. Back home today and purging junk from my basement. Getting ride of A half dozen boxes of junk and found a buch if guitar related stuff I had filed away for future use. Also filled a box full on junk electronics to recycle. Taking it easy this weekend after spending a few days doing a jaunt up to Lake Superior (north shore) on the motorcycle - 3000km return trip!

I thought the forum was on hiatus this morning as my attempted try’s to get here were totally stalled.

We did our breakfast run with our really close friends followed by a little quality time with my (almost) 99 year old mother. We’re just sitting here watching an old Bill Macy movie titled “Door To Door” and thinking what an enjoyable movie it is to watch.

Both this forum and its sister site, the Les Paul Forum were unreachable for hours today. I first tried logging on at about 7:00am EDT. It was still down at 3:30pm when I left the house for a cook-out with my daughter and family.

That's been the bulk of my day. This morning, we had a picnic after church, so eating has been the main focus of the day. I have so far stayed true to my new commitment to practice guitar every day that I eat. So I put in about 30 minutes today of combined scales, finger exercises and chordal improvisation.

That’s a great movie. Got to enjoy it with my Dad before he died.

Went fishing yesterday with my stepson, daughter and grandson (he's 12). He's grown into quite an accomplished fisherman. He still has a bit of trouble with his knots, but he hooked, landed, and released several nice smallmouth bass all by himself. It was more fun watching him fish than it was to catch fish myself (although I did plenty of that , too). Today is a Labor Day picnic at the local recovery club -live music and good fellowship - and the wife wants to go which is progress.
