    Just came back home

From taking my 10 year old daughter to a magnetic resonance.

A couple of days ago she started feeling dizzy, had to miss a few days of school and last night she said she was having double sight episodes.

Took her immediately to a neurologist, hence the resonance.

Fortunately, the doctors said everything was ok with her, and the causes of these symptms could be stress related.

Man, I feel like I took a beating. I was there with her all the time, being strong for her and turning every one of her tears into smiles and laughter (she was frightened about all those tests and doctors all around), but now that I know that it’s ok, the tension backlash got me big time.

It’s tough when you love your children more than yourself and face these situations.

    Just sharing...

I know how you feel, Sérgio. I have a daugher, too. Now I also have a granddaughter, so my angst can be multiplied at times.

I'm glad your daughter is OK.

My greatest fear, literally, is that one of my kids will get seriously ill. Hell, I hate it when they have a grown up problem that I can't solve for them.

That fear never goes away. It's part of being a parent, I guess.

Sérgio, your affection and dedication are strikingly clear. Moreover, being a man who prides himself on personal integrity I don't think that any of us would believe anything to the contrary.
I am grateful your daughter has escaped any illness and is recovering from this temporary issue.
The strain of the unknown taxes us worse than one could imagine unless it is experienced firsthand. You may now stand down and relax. At least for now as I know you're constantly on guard. If you were here, I would treat you to a shot of Kentucky bourbon, or perhaps two or three shots! But, being as it is some distance between your country and mine we will independently hold up a salute and be happy that we did so.
I forgot what I was going to say...

Very nice! As a parent of a teen girl who has been to hospital more than a few times (anaphylactic allergies and small accident on a race course requiring stitches across the bridge of her nose, I know how you feel!

Brother my oldest son is 32 and when he was 3 had to have surgery. Not life or death, but he was afraid in the surroundings and it is certainly something that rocks your world when a little one is going through scary unknown times and thoughts. Your story brought the feelings back like it was just yesterday. Much mojo you and your family.
