he was supposed to play at the Club Casino at Hampton Beach in the near future. I wasn't particularly keen on going since I've heard some rather lackluster word of mouth reviews about recent shows. Still he is part of a musical legacy and I hope he gets well.
I got to see him decades ago, when he was at his peak. I'm sorry that he's ailing. I guess we just have to get used to the fact that our heroes are aging, getting sick, and dying.
On the other hand, it's amazing how good some of the oldsters still are. As you know, I'm a big fan of McCartney, and when I saw him last, five years ago, he was amazingly good, even better than when I'd seen him 10 years earlier. I hear that Billy Joel is still excellent. I saw Dylan about 6 years ago, and although his voice is not as good as it was, his overall performance was excellent.
If we'd known we were going to be the Beatles, we'd have tried harder.--George Harrison
