Question about Rosewood Fretboards on Strats

I was wondering if the Rosewood fretboards in 60s stratocasters were any different in thickness compared to the ones on modern American made strats.

The American Standard/Deluxe (i.e. Professional/Elite) series seem to have a thin fretboard, especially in the higher fret area.

I might have read somewhere that the pre-CBS ones had thicker rosewood boards, but the ones I've browsed through google images don't seem to be any thicker at all:

I can't imagine Leo using much more than he needed to get the job done so I doubt if the older boards were really thicker.
