    The Weekly Sunday Thread 7/22/2018

Good morning! After more than a week of hot, sunny weather, we got a bunch of rain yesterday, and the forecast is for more over the next several days. Right now as I type this, it's sunny, but later on...

    I bought strings for my
new classical guitar and hope to put them on today. I don't have plans for the day. My forehead right now looks like I accidentally opened a shaken can of cherry soda while bending over it. My dermatologist has me on a three week regime to address what apparently is sun damage or just an aging issue. The cream I apply twice a day has me all broken out. And it feels like sunburn!

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far!

Rain here in Connecticut too - could be on and off for the next few days. We're suffering from Brown Lawn Syndrome so I don't mind too much. Today I'm going to put some miles on the new car.

The weather was beautiful yesterday. Today we started what might be a week of rain. I don't mind rain, but not when it goes on too long.
I've had my Carvin SH645 up for sale for a little while and I'm finding that it seems to draw more flaky buyers than my other guitars have. A lot of dreamers who see flamed maple at a decent price and want it even cheaper.

Beautiful day to be sitting on my deck, having a longgggg coffee time, and prepping the final pages of Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying for the upcoming week’s classes.

Later today , band practice. We’ve got a gig in three weeks, but we still have no drummer. We’re auditioning someone Wednesday, so we desperately hope he works out.

Sunny, but not so warm morning here in NE Brazil.

Woke up and had my usual mugs of black coffee while playing my acoustic a bit...

Last night I went to see my GF's uncle gig with his Beatles cover band. Pretty cool show but I had quite a handful of beers.

Will spend the rest of the Sunday at the office working and having more coffee.

rain here but it seems to have stopped for now. got rushed into moving the den stuff today when I wasn't ready for it. I had planned on next week but it wasn't my call. I'm tired, hungry and sore. Wednesday can't get here soon enough for my next chiropractor visit.

We're starting to get some difficulty in getting the coverage my mom needs. We have three people working and it looks like we need a fourth one, someone who can work sundays. everybody seems to want that day or night off. That's fine I can understand but my mom can't got a whole day and night without help that I'm not able to give her.

First rain and sub-90s day we've had in weeks. Seems like I've been running the AC nonstop all month. Have all the windows and doors open today. I've been doing a ton of work up at the lake house/cottage so a day of 'rest' is in order!

I've got a studio project going with a long-standing band that is just done with gigging; this is a power trio doing hard rock/'70s "metal" type originals...currently writing music (the band's third album) and intend to create some Youtube vids ( a la Scary Pockets) to publicize instead of trying to book a gig where 10 people will show up.

Got one new song roughed in by myself this afternoon. Bandleader supplied lyrics and chord changes in acoustic format - I "metalized" it!

Now need to rehearse and record audio and video! And then edit! And the upload and wait for the Patreon dollars to come rolling in! LOL!
