Maybe God Doesn't Want Me Playing In A Worship Band

I received an email from one of the pastors at my church reporting that the worship band leader has suffered a "grilling accident" on Sunday, and had to be rushed to the hospital with first- and second-degree burns on his face, arms and legs. His situation is serious, but at least his airways, eyes and major organs are well. He underwent skin graft surgery as the pastor wrote his email, so there is no word yet on his recovery prognosis.

I will be doing what I can to help out his family. But from the sound of the email, we will be having to make do without our worship leader, who is a very talented musician. No word yet on how we are going to hold services in his absence, but this probably means I won't be having any practice sessions for the time being.

Back to practicing in the privacy of my home.

Pretty sure that if God doesn't want you playing in a worship band He's not going to set the worship leader on fire. Wouldn't it be easier for Him just to tell you so? Just thinking out loud

I gave up trying to determine the mind of God years ago. Who knows?

Actually, I ~am~ going to go for it! The pastor sent out an email this evening saying, "We are also working on coordinating coverage for Sunday worship for the next 5 weeks." I'm going to touch base with him/them and see if I can't contribute.
