Aloha! or the benefits of globalization...

Ok, I know. I post a lot of useless nonsense here, but that's because I love it here and love to share the daily small things that make life sweet. It's good to shoot the breeze with you, friends...

So, I was browsing the web for a dinner delivery after a hard day in court, and guess what I found here, by the tropical beaches of Brazil...

Poke. I never thought I'd have it here. But I did, and it is really good

I wonder if this looks and tastes like the real Hawaiian stuff but I'm sure what they have in California and everywhere else is just as "non original", so...

I think poke is the new "trendy" food fad.

Fads come and go. The two Peruvian chicken restaurants in town closed within weeks of each other. Pho, on the other hand, seems to still be running strong.

Yeah, I like to try everything (well, almost...).

Poke seems to be a trend, just as Açaí bowls and Dragon Fruit (Pitaya) began to spread all over the American west coast a while ago, and it actually started here in Brazil.

Açaí is a common fruit down here and we Brazilians never really paid much attention to it until a couple of years ago, when it became a trend among gym rats and athletes in general... Then it started to be viewed as a "granola friendly" healthy food and everyone seemed to want to eat it all the time.
