I had opened a thread here about a minor finish chip that my favorite strat had around the upper input jack screw hole, but can't seem to find it again in order to reply.

Our friend Don advised me to simply apply some black nitro-based nail polish and let it settle... I did it. I put a generous drop of nail polish onto it and let it dry, no sanding or buffing needed. Mounted the jack plate again and left it alone for months.

Last night I unscrewed the jack to give it a twist and voilá, the whole nail polish had dried and shrinked to an almost unperceivable black finish, perfectly blended with the original black urethane. The guitar looks new.

Thanks again, partner!
