    Avatar 45 head and cab!

I just picked this up today. It sounds great! I got a good deal. The Tolex and corners are a little nicked up, but it's nothing that matters. I have so much to learn about using this type of amp! It's something that I've wanted for a very long time!

Congrats. How would you categorize the sound of that amp?

Thank you! It's a JTM45 with a few modern features. Grindy Marshall thump. Very thick with a lot of bass. Bluesbreakers to early AC/DC.

It's got external bias test points and bias pot, a post phase inverter master volume control, and the channels are jumpered internally and can be footswitched from channel A to Channel B or both at the same time. If I recall, Avatar says that they did something in the circuit to either tighten up the bass. It's an extra short head (21" wide) so it fits on a little Marshall 1x12 cab that I have.

The cab is HUGE for a 2x12"- 31" wide x 21" tall x 15" deep. It weighs 56 pounds but is bulky and may never leave my house! I've been told that it has a Celestion Vintage 30 and a G13M Greenback in it.

I'm dying to play a loud outdoor blues rock gig!

I'm not big into making sound clips, and if I was, I'd more likely choose amp modelling over a real amp, anyway!

Yes! KT66! You can come see/hear/try it anytime, as long as you don't mind a cramped space (I have amps to sell!).

It sounds like this demo vid (be sure to check out the slide playing at about 9:19 and the clean Strat at about 15:40)-

He's got the master at noon (third knob from the right). That's totally doable in my practice space and where I have it set at the moment.

I'm having a blast with this amp! I flipped the cab over today so the Greenback is on top and the V30 on the bottom. I like it better. A little brighter and dryer sounding.

Sounds pretty sweet! Nice if you can cob it to the point you induce the sag. Loooove the saaaaaag.

    Me too!

I was just talking to my wife about how I need her and my son to go out so I can crank this thing up (the Avatar 45, not the tweed Deluxe- I crank that up all the time) and see how it sounds when it's really singing!
