    Sunday Feb 18

Morning, all. I wish you all a good day.

So tired of the gray weather. Where is the sun? Has it become shy?

I've started recording a new song. Got the piano recorded yesterday, and did a little keyboard sitar thing in the bridge. Today, I'll work on it some more. Maybe bass. I haven't decided whether to do a guitar solo on one part or to use the keyboard to do a clarinet.

    Otherwise, it's house cleaning day...

Happy Sunday!!! the sun is actually out shining on the 5" of snow we got last night. It will be melted by Wednesday, however - it could hit 70 by Wednesday! Yesterday I discovered Tin Star - the Amazon TV series - I'll be binge-watching that today.

G’mornin’ lads - nice mild and sunny day up here so far. This pneumonia and after effects is starting to get better. Had a specialist consultation this week - now on heavy duty antibiotics and nuclear powered inhalers. But still have the stamina of a three day old kitten. However, the good news is I can sleep lying down now - after 35 days of sleeping sitting up! Doctor has ordered me not to travel for at least a month or two so as not to pick up a new bug in my compromised state.

But - the sun is shining, I’m not coughing violently 20 hours a day and can concentrate on music. I decided I was going to teach myself the bass lines to Sgt Pepper album. I was inspired by Cheap Trick’s live performance of that album - copy of video on YouTube and Tom Peterson’s bass is prominent in the mix....got the first two tracks down pretty well yesterday...

It's beautiful out there! I have to go out and clear some snow then go grocery shopping then maybe work on a customer's amp. Maybe I'll get to mess around with that Mesa/Boogie later.

Ah, the Sunday thread. The only place I feel comfortable posting. I'm not building or buying a new amp, new guitar, I'm not into punk/grunge, and I have nothing to contribute to the other lively topics.

Today was church in the morning and work in the afternoon. The upside is that for the past week, every time the sun has come out, it says to me, "the temperature may still be cold, but I'm a Springtime sun. It won't be long now..."

I finished doing my taxes Friday, and yesterday I spent a lazy day assembling a new bed frame (I didn't say I wasn't building, just not building musical stuff! ).

Tomorrow is a day off from work; President's Day. I think that's going to be my "Sunday."

It’s been an exciting day of man chores and an unexpected new pet.

That is right, you guessed it, we have a newly minted slider turtle.

    Film at 11.

New tank and accessories, 70 bucks.

The smilie on Mrs. Gators face, priceless.

I’ve been playing my tele and 5C3 lately, I’ll start a thread on it.

    Yall be well my friends.

    Edit: Just couldn’t resist.

You know, Old Strummer, I’d probably agree with a lot of what you posted...but, my taxes are done (gettin’ a bit of a return even though I’m an old retired guy) and I had to shovel snow again this morning.

We had a wonderful morning with close friends at breakfast (even though one is an AR15 advocate) and wouldn’t change our lives for anything out there these days.

"freedom, I seek sweet, terrible freedom."

I know somebody who adopted a great spurred African tortoise, Mr Speedy. Friendly bugger, come trundling from wherever he was in the yard to greet you when you go through the gate. Likes having his head petted. Loves strawberries and other fruits. Probably about the size of a large serving dish.

I asked his owner "How old is he?"

    "He hatched 10 years ago."

"Oh. They live to be 150 years old."

He was silent for a bit. "Hmm, I hadn't thought about that. I, ah, I'm probably going to have to put something in my will to take care of him."

"Your will? He's probably going to outlive your kids, too."

He got real quiet after that.

parrots are another long lived pet. My parents had some good friends who had a parrot, Paul. They had him since I was maybe 10, and he outlived both of them. Lives with one of their daughters now and probably will for another 30 or more years and the daughter is about 10-15 years older than I am so he could outlive her, too.
