willie - while not strictly a modeller, I've been using the SansAmp RBI (rack version of the BDDI) for a couple of years now live and in studio.

    • Live I run straight to the board from the DI out on the SansAmp and have been pleased with the results.

    • In the studio, much the same thing - more to give me a "warmer" signal going into the audio interface/DAW. But in the DAW, I might run some amp sims on the bass channel to get what I'm after; if I'm practcing, I don't use the DAW - I just monitor the SansAmp signal right from the interface.

I've noticed that some are using the Zoom B3N to good effect - it's got amp and cab sims plus ton of FX.

Dirtdog, I forgot to say I need something with a USB connection. I love my Pod HD500X for guitars, keyboard, and vocals, but not for bass. However I may have found a solution today: my Fender Rumble has a line out mic output that I can run through the Pod.

Funny - Dirtdog....I Have an RBI also - use it with my home setup. I have it tied into a PEAVEY IPR2 5000 power amp - it is AWE-Some!

Willie - I don't use any modeler stuff but have hear people talk about line 6 and behringer units favorably. I meant to tell you - I FINALLY got to hear your tracks, and was impressed. I couldn't get my PC to play them for some reason for a long time. VERY NICE work! I really don't know how to do stuff like that - I just try to play and remember to breath. thats enough for my head at one time.
