    Re: Possible Rotator Cuff Surgery

Man, I consider myself so lucky. Since my problem was just a build up of scar tissue, I'm already out of the sling and using my arm. It's painful as hell, and physical therapy was damned brutal yesterday and will be for the next two weeks. I'm doing my exercises. This morning, I didn't even have to take a percocet--trying to get off those as quickly as possible, but I'll have to have one before the day is out. Anyway, I'm typing with two hands. Just damned lucky.

Wow! That's great! I never luck out on that kind of thing.

After pt today, I’m aching bad. Still at least I don’t have to wear a sling. I just have to keep telling myself that the pain now will pay off when I can pick up the guitars again.

    Re: Possible Rotator Cuff Surgery

I'm continuing to progress and even played a bit of guitar yesterday, my Hofner. I played only a few minutes because it hurt. And I don't think it had anything to do with the guitar, more with the PT, but I hurt more last night than I've hurt since surgery. It kept me up most of the night, and I had to miss work today. Still, I'm making progress, and already, in some positions, I have more mobility in my arm than I did before surgery. Again, I'm so lucky that it wasn't a torn rotator cuff or labrum, and I know the pain will eventually subside. I'm looking forward to the time when I can play without pain and when I can sleep in my bed instead of in the recliner.
