Super Bowl Sunday morning and coffee thread

Good morning y'all. I've been journalizing and drinking java. So far my strat build has accomplished taping off the fingerboard and using 0000 steel wool on the frets. They are shinier but now reveal that they need more work to be satisfactory. I hope I can find some 2000 grit sandpaper today. I don't want to assemble the guitar just to take it apart to work on the neck some more. I want it done right before I bolt it together. I had delusions of grandeur that it would be done today in time to go jamming at a super bowl party. neither the guitar will be ready nor am I going to any parties this year. My friend who usually hosts a party is going out to one this year. At this point the weather isn't looking so great tonight so it is probably just as well that I am not out there driving. Be careful if you do, SB Sunday is becoming the new amateur drinking night that NYE used to be.

I just got finished with the Ariens and the snow outside so now it's on to a Bloody Mary or three and breakfast with my sweety and our friends. No Super Bowl for me.

Dan, can't wait to see the build.

    Laker, enjoy the Bloody Mary.

    Same old same old chore-wise.

I was going to record a new song this weekend. It's piano-based, and I was reworking it yesterday and came up with a passage that's difficult for my 10 thumbs to play, so I'll be practicing it for a few days before I try to record it. It's not that difficult if you're a good pianist, but for me...

    Hope everyone enjoys their day.

We finished repairing the truck on Thursday so that's a load off of my mind.

Yesterday I started addressing the issue of the 4-65 watt Eminence speakers in my Carvin 4x10 cabinet distorting while playing at moderate volume levels. I can't tell 100% if it's crappy speakers or bad cabinet design. I swapped my 25 watt greenback with my 75 watt G12H creamback in my 1x12 cab and will try the amp through that to rule out any amp issues (maybe it's just distorting oddly?).

We're not playing today. It's Mrs OSA's birthday and I'm taking her out to see Rickenjangle and his band at a SuperBowl party. Looking forward to it.

I miss Rickenjangle. Tell him to get his ass back on here.

Hmmm... the amp distorts the creamback and my Mesa amp does not distort the 4x10 cab. It's the amp. Sounds like I either need to take it to a pro or get my own signal generator, scope and dummy load.

Sad Sunday for me. My grandmother passed away this morning, at 88 years old.

OK - I'm not big football fan, but that game was really good last night. I wish the Patriots had won, but Philly deserved it - they played hard!

My condolences to you and your family, Sergio. I too have lost some close friends this week with one being part of my life for 68 years. It’s a sad fact that, as we get older, our family and friends disappear at an increasing rate.
