Dirty Angels - Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye. This song was a hit back in the mid-70's. My buddy Charlie Karp was in the band although I wouldn't get to know him for many years. I still remember hearing "Tell Me" on the radio while sitting in traffic on the Tappan Zee Bridge. I dug it then, too!

I've been listening to a lot of newer bands and performers, including Local Natives, Sam Fender, The Weeks, The National, Tame Impala, etc.

Rock is very much alive--this kind ain't SRV or hair guitar. I guess what I'm listening to would be considered indie? I don't know. It's good music.

    Good ones!

Willie, have you checked out Rival Sons, Orchid and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club? Pretty good ones too.

Andy is a good guy. When he was about to go out with Dickey Betts a few years back he was very kind and answered questions for me on the Guitar World forum he had. I sent him a message on Facebook after reading the book letting him know I remembered that and enjoyed the book and he took time to reply.

I just got a used copy of "Stevie Ray Vaughan: Caught in the Crossfire" in the mail today. A lot of the same stories should be in it but in a different light. Looking forward to it.

Oh there was a Guitar World forum? Cool, I never knew that. I wish I had enrolled too. I loved that magazine back in the 90s.

Yeah, it had what you have here and Andy did a forum where you could request tabs for the magazine but he'd hang out some evenings and respond to others things people were talking about.

Marc Cohn and the Blind Boys of Alabama - "Work to Do" - a really cool live album. More keyboards than guitar, but hey....

Been listening to Sublime today, but tonight, I’ve got Dave Gilmour’s solo discography on shuffle.

I was testing a new set of headphones (Bose 700s) and put this album on. One of my all-time favorites but I hadn't listened for a long time. Awesome recording - great songs.

Inspired by a Facebook post, I'm re-visiting one of my all-time favorite bands of the 60s and 70s: Steppenwolf. To my surprise, still going strong today.

    And check out the Ric!

Been revisiting Ravi Shankar's Ragas these last couple of days. Soothing and epic at the same time, I especially recommend his "Living Room sessions".

I rediscovered this album this morning. Saw this band at a free concert in in Baltimore Inner Harbor a number of years ago and they RAWKED! Good tunes!

I've been listening to a lot of indie pop rock lately. Tonight I was digging Creature Comfort's "Am I Dreaming," Illiterate Light's "Better Than I Used To," Wilco's "Love is Everywhere"--great melodic songs. Good arrangements, well-written and -produced stuff.
