Stuck Speakers!
I recently picked up a MV UL Twin, (cheap). I have another project in the works, and intend to build a head/cab, so decided to pull the speakers, and put them up.
They wouldn't budge!
I left the cab on it's back with the nuts loosened a couple of turns, for over a week, but still nothing. I finally got a small pry tool, and a .010 feeler gauge, worked around them, and they came off with almost no damage to the gasket!

Re: Stuck Speakers!
I have used the offset disassembly knife from Stew Mac to remove a stuck speaker.

That would be easier on one's hands, Don! But being a mechanic, I used the tools at hand.

I was lucky to already have the Stew Mac tool from another job, otherwise I would've done the same as you.

Yeah they are Dan!
I was trying really hard not to damage them!

Re: Stuck Speakers!
going to put them in a cab or move them on to new homes?
I once helped with a load out, everybody kept walking around the Twin. The stage was a flatbed trailer (or two) and a rickety set of stairs. I went to grab the amp by the handle and some dumbass had bolted it to the stage. Oh, what's this? Orange frames ... oh. They're JBLs. Oh, well, I was committed. Got that baby off the staging and over to the owner's truck. Whew. Not so much the weight but the awkward ergonomics.

Re: Stuck Speakers!
I'm planning on putting them in a separate cab, and put the chassis in a head. I have a AB763 style clone with a 15" EV SRO, and a Music Man RD100 with an EVM 15L, so I want something a little easier to move than another heavy combo!
(I don't really need the UL Twin, and I have that project on hold for now).
In my younger days, if you didn't have a Twin, you were looked down on. I remember a job on the 4th, (in 1966), where the leader decided to hire a fiddle, and a steel player for the 3 days. The singer, guitar player, piano player, steel and fiddle all had Twins! Nobody played that loud either!
Don, I found a tool like you showed in my box, guess it came from my father in laws stuff, not sure what he needed it for.
