    Couple new (to me) basses

Stopped in at the local used music shop and scored! I actually got these awhile back and am just getting around to posting them here. First up is a Squier Jazz bass, I've been wanting a cheapy so I played all the MIM's and Squiers. This was the best sounding and playing one. I put in a set of DiMarzio Area J pups, swapped out the white guard for a Tort, new pots cap and jack, along with a new set of tuners. Opened up the nut slot and tuned it BEAD. It really is nice, sounds great and NO dead spots on the neck!!! I can't even say that for some of my "nice" basses. The other piece I picked up was a nice T40, I've always wanted one and finally have one.

Nice! I've not played bass since I borrowed a high school classmate's. Interesting tuning you chose; essentially the bottom four strings of a five-string bass.

Thanks guys! I'm really happy with both.

@OldStrummer: Yeah, 5 string tuning without the G. I play mostly at church, and need to get down that low, just have never been able to play a 5 string. This gets me there, I only have to remember the tuning... LOL So sometimes I slip up and hit the wrong note!
