    Classic Player Jaguar?

So, I was offered a 2013 Classic Player Jaguar, in olympic white.

I was actually aiming at a Les Paul, as I was willing to have a guitar with humbuckers, to match my SSS strats, and the Jag does the job.

Any experience with that particular model? How does it sound compared to the standard Lester?

I ask this because I don't know much about Fender humbuckers.

Uh... Just because of the price. Things are tough here in Brazil, and even Mexican or Asian guitars are expensive here.

Have you played the Offset guitars before?? Out professionally for any time.....?

I ask because I know for me ----if i where a Strat Guy--like you--- the Jag can get ---HEAVY, after a while.

Almost on a a Solid Les Paul level......FYI Seated, they are AMAZINGLY comfortable......just my .02 cents.

Oh that wouldn't be a problem, I've played a Les Paul standard for quite a while...

The only guitar model that I found really uncomfortable was the SG.

    Re: Classic Player Jaguar?

    Well, bad news, I'm afraid.

the fellow who was selling the Jag came over to show me the geetar, and it happens that someone overtightened the neck screws SO hard, that bent the neckplate (believe me or not) and cracked the wood around it. It was unbelievably gross.

    Unfortunately, I couldn't buy it.

This guy is cool and everything, plays in a band that normally shares the stage with us, and I really like the sound of his jag, always have. But no way I'd buy a guitar with such damage.

    Alas...

    Re: Classic Player Jaguar?

I've seen bent neck plates, that's an easy fix. But, I personally think that it'd be pretty hard to actually crack the wood. The finish? Yeah. But IME, the screw holes in the neck would strip out before you could actually crack the body. UNLESS the guitar was dropped, then there would be a crack in the body.

I'm not doubting your decision, I'm just really interested to see the damage.
