That is beautiful! I don't have a Gibson with flame right now. I have a Carvin with a heck of a quilted top, though!

I don't have a gibson with flames at the moment either. Would a run down memory lane be ok?

If I recall correctly - Gibson Junkie has a Gary Moore LP that I haven't seen pic of in a long while.
I got to put some fingerprints on it a few years ago - and really liked it!

    2004 R9

1999 R9, I was so stupid to let this one get away

1999 R9, pictures are inadequate to describe how seductively beautiful this guitar is in person

not done yet, hope I'm not boring anyone

Brazilian 2003 R8, I thought I'd never sell this guitar but my dad was going through chemo and I needed money to live on while I took care of him. The inside of the back plate has an autograph of Les Paul when I saw him at the Iridium Jazz Club.

My first Historic, a 1999 R9, I had this one the longest

annnnd finally, we come to the last of the flamed gibsons I've had. Some I miss more than others but I feel very fortunate to have been in their presence for however long I was around.

Brazilian 2003 R9, this was hands down both the most beautiful and best sounding of all my 2003 Brazilian Historic Custom Shop reissues. The day I put it up for sale it was bought by a Japanese collector and as far as I know it resides still in the Land of The Rising Sun. I want this one back.

When the wife asks if I ever surf porn, I show her the porn that gets me going--a thread like this one, chock full of incredible instruments.

No, I don't wear a trench coat while I look at the pics here...

Make sure you get one w/a fat neck on it. Mine has the "slim '60s" profile & I think that has contributed to the headstock breaking THREE TIMES now. The area around the truss rod cover is so thin it might as well be a fork!

    Re: Got Flame?

All nice guitars I'm sure, but the color on that first Les Paul (an R0?) is just DEEP. I think CDaughtry's Faye is the most beautiful Les Paul ever. That one reminds me of it.

    Re: Got Flame?

Thank you for the positives. Actually I like that one (the top one) the least. It is an R0 and I can't get into the neck at all. The sound is dead on, I love it but I just have gotten away from skinny necks. I am not nuts about dark bursts either, but at least it shows very red around the edges with enough light. Big Al loves it as well. The only reason I don't get rid of it is I have the set. 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61 so it's kinda holding up that end of the bidness.

Every time I see that I want it. I can't do 3 pickups though. Other than that I must have an acid green monster like that.
