If I was to have but one little Fenderer fiddle...

Any thoughts on those John Cruz Master Design '63 Startocasterbeans? Are they the knees bees or total carp? If an idiot was to have one Fenderer would this be a poor choice or worse than that? I thought it interesting that he used a Blend Pot on it. I suppose that would give you consistent grade doobies and such. I looked them up then actually played one locally and was able to determine that it looked old and I could make it sound like I squeezed a cat. Which is better than the sounds I could make with a Nocasterbeans. That sounded like I sitted on crickets. Damn. Shook a filling loose.

I don't know about the Stratocasterbeans, but I know that cats prefer the Stratocatter.

I think it would be a good choice. They ARE good guitars.

that being said I wouldnt trade my mid-90s relic for one I hadn't played if they were worth the same amount. at this level it's about individual guitars and if you care can you get enough back out of it that you're happy with your purchase.

team built vs masterbuilt doesnt make as much difference to me as the right neck profile and the right sound.

Thank you. The neck on this is awesome (at least the one I played) and they are supposedly very consistent. I love the pickups in it as well. It is very ballsy. I am hoping the used one I got is as nice as the new one I played. Weight was virtually identical so I am hoping...

He's made some good guitars, so I would think that this series would be a good choice. As with any guitar, they're going to vary slightly. But, I'd imagine these would be pretty darn consistent.

If you liked the one you played, have the money, then buy one. I don't like to buy guitars without playing them first, I prefer to try them out first in person. But that's just me, and how I like to do things.

    Best of luck to you!

it's worth noting that Cruz used to be head of QC.

one presumably does not rise to that position in a company Fender's size without at least some proclivity for attention to detail.

And the ability to deal with people hating you. Yeah, I know...

Hey, Got it! I'll post pictures as soon as I can. I am still dialing things in and letting it settle down from the trip.

Quick question: If you mount the whammy bar can you leave it on when cased? It is a bitc* to put on! Holes don't line up well.

Brass under there. The Tremolo (Vibrato?) is brass.

Here is all the junk that was in the case. Like they couldn't throw this out themselves! Sheesh!

I don't use a rectangular hard case often, but when I do, I leave the trem arm on.
