Sunday mawning blizzard and coffee appreciation

Good morning, y'all from the frozen wind-whipped white north. I have no idea how much snow has fallen as the world outside is utterly monochromatic and lacking in contrast. The temperature is dropping since I got up this morning and is slated to hit lows not seen in a couple decades. As long as I can brew coffee and stay warm, I'm good.

For a change, we are in between the snow bands instead of inside of one. At the moment it is not actively snowing. The radar seems to indicate the nor'easter is getting pushed backwards out to sea. Ai yi yi. That's a big cold air mass coming our way.

I finally got the last pieces I need to finish my bass guitar build. I still haven't gotten the fret finishing tools to clean up the frets before I string this bad boy up. I can now build the body, though and have that ready to receive the neck. I may just put it on anyway with the set of round wounds I have sitting in a crate somewhere, as my patience is wearing thin as my cabin fever grows. My goal is to have it strung with flats.

It looks like well over a foot of new snow out there this morning (on top of the un-melted 40" or so from the past two weeks).
I've been told that the storm will slow down after lunch and we can dig out (again).

I have to work on my friend's Ripper bass. Apparently the Varitone spun, ripping out its wiring. I've got schematics, photographs and a new choke to work with.

We only got around 4 inches, but it's blowing like crazy. I just finished doing the driveway - 16 degrees when I started - 13 when I was done.

Gee, I guess saying that it's 68°F here at 11AM and overcast would sound good? Yesterday was better with full sunshine, no wind, and 74°F. Actually had the A/C on for a bit to clear out the stuffiness inside yesterday. And to think that my crazy step-son wants me to move to Montana and stay with him and his family 20 miles south of the Canadian border!

snow had pretty much ended when I started the thread. The sun was shining when I started shoveling and snowblowing at 12:30 and was still bright when I finished at 4:40. This was a particularly brutal clean up today due to conditions, existing towering snowbanks and the snow equivalent of combat fatigue.

The snow was done here around noon. I didn't head out to clean up until around 3pm. I used the snowblower, my son shoveled the front and my wife shoveled the back. And we finished pretty quickly- in about an hour and a half but it was tough due tot he huge snowbanks and the uneven surface under the snow.

    Melody - I like that ...... A LOT

I have a Dot I replaced the Pups with a set of 78 Les Paul pups that a friend pulled during an upgrade. The client told him he could keep them, and they had been wax potted. He immediately thought of me - and I love them!

I REALLY Like the look of yours, the binding is classic. Did you replace the other wiring too or scab it in? I scabbed mine in, and honestly haven't needed to replace anything yet.

    This thread bums me out.

    Why?

Well, because I LOVE coffee, but am starting to have some acid/heartburn issues. This means limiting my coffee intake.

I guess I'll have to drown my sorrows in some old music...

    ...early Deep Purple...that's the ticket!

Thanks, I just scabbed um in I think the whole electronic upgrade thing is a farce if the stock pot's, switch work I leave them. The stock pups where to dull lacked definition that's why I replaced them..If you look close the F holes are bound as well...

I have in the past went through the hassle of replacing the stock pot's,switches only to be dispirited by not hearing dam bit of difference..

Ummmm...not quite...around these parts, "SRV" means "Stevie Ray Vaughan," but maybe you know something we don't!

Mr. Steve will do just fine too.

I love that Austin City Limits show.
