    steel saddles

    Has anyone tried the raw vintage steel saddles that are ovailable on ebay,they say that they are a direct copy of the saddles made in the 50's

    Which steel saddles on eBay? I don't know and would question the type of steel that is being used by third party makers.

    Unless you are trying to restore a real vintage guitar and want the ones with "Fender" and "Patent #" embossed on them, it is easier to just stick with Fender.

    I think the OP is referring to Raw Vintage brand saddles.

    I replaced the saddles on my Clap-toon strat because the hexs were rounded on the originals, and it was cheaper than buying new pins. I got mine through Guitar Fetish, and couldn't be happier. not sure about others - the ones I got were more like those you find on an Am std
