A few folks already know I've been on the hunt for a great Les Paul, and that I prefer the studios to the gussied up models. I really wanted a Heritage but they tend to be few and far between and most of them are bound necks. I also love the slightly thinner bodied LP style since they are lighter and seem to have a bit more "zing".
After searching and searching and almost settling a couple times, a phone search yielded a REAL winner!
I found this Heritage H140 original issue, built 7/12/90, It was the fifth guitar they finished that day.
Color is a little off in the picture, it's closer to wine red but the green shag carpet probably threw the camera for a loop.
I REALLY love this guitar. It plays itself, has a great woody mid, sizzle on the high and the neck pup isn't woofy. Why anyone would let this guitar go is a real head-scratcher.
I'll get some sound clips out in the next few days.
