    N(O)GD

A few folks already know I've been on the hunt for a great Les Paul, and that I prefer the studios to the gussied up models. I really wanted a Heritage but they tend to be few and far between and most of them are bound necks. I also love the slightly thinner bodied LP style since they are lighter and seem to have a bit more "zing".

After searching and searching and almost settling a couple times, a phone search yielded a REAL winner!

I found this Heritage H140 original issue, built 7/12/90, It was the fifth guitar they finished that day.

Color is a little off in the picture, it's closer to wine red but the green shag carpet probably threw the camera for a loop.

I REALLY love this guitar. It plays itself, has a great woody mid, sizzle on the high and the neck pup isn't woofy. Why anyone would let this guitar go is a real head-scratcher.

I'll get some sound clips out in the next few days.

Very nice. I have an H-150, in TObacco Burst.
Killer guitar, with a deep tone, way darker than my LP Std.
Also a back breaker, 10+ lbs, I think...
Still not giving it up anytime soon. Sounds and plays too good.

I don't know, OA, the green/red is downright Christmasy! Maybe you could tolex an amp in green and wear one of those little fur-trimmed red velvet hats while you play it.

That is a really nice score! His loss, your gain.

Nice! I've never seen a Heritage in person, but with the pool of musicians around where I live that ain't saying much... Anyhoodle, enjoy!

    That's a beauty!

I've been looking at Heritage H535s. So far, I've found them to feel a little "tighter" than an ES-335. This might be due to fret size and neck shape or might even just have been the guitars that I played.

They have been immaculately made! The Gibsons that I've played look and feel like cavemen made them with stone tools compared to the Heritages that I've played!

The Heritages have been less expensive, too.
