Everyone knows someone who has a cool axe, or things about the axes out there.....
David has had this one for a LONG time -
What I recall him telling me is that it was born an esquire, and that the bridge pup is a velvet brick, and that there was a push pull volume on an original PAF HB at the neck to split it. He dug the cavity with a steak knife, or pocket knife - I can't recall - I think there is/was a micro switch and for some reason, I can't recall if that WAS the coil split, or is.....or if it does something else now....
At any rate -this was one of the first times I ever had an opportunity to play with him, and can't thank him enough for all I learned, and for giving my fat ass a chance to play with him, as part of the blues jams he ran out here in our parts -
I have played this one a few times, but can't make it sound like him. BTW - my blonde hot rod, which I still have, and he asks for from time to time - because it sounds pretty good.
A shiny memory
Oh - Edited......
