My tech put a pot in my Strat. When I tried to put the knobs on, the volume knob doesn't fit because the pot stem is too big around.
I tried to hollow out the knob, and it barely stays on.
Anybody have a fix short of changing the pot and buying a new set of (chrome) knobs?

If they are solid shaft - you probably need knobs with set screws .....OR....
Try locktight *easy release type or a drop of glue (nothing permanent if you ever want to get them off again)
are they smooth or splined?

You can always just bend the ears (or whatever you wanna call 'em) closer together. I've done that in the past , it works OK, just be careful you don't break them. I've found there's two types of pots used mostly, the smoother splined USA sized ones, and the ultra knurled but smaller import ones.

I'll try a drop of glue. Eventually, I'm going to put metal knobs on it. The plastic, chrome painted knobs will go.

I changed the pots in my Tele knock off with a set of CTS. The originals were about the size of those used in stomps boxes, and had a splined shaft. Found a couple of blackface style amps knobs work fine, don't know if I'll buy the correct dome knobs for it.
split/splined definitely address different than solid......
