So I still have this thing......

Love this guitar - got it from PC a long while back and had it out for a run. I wish Had gotten a pic of Chris Duarte playing it - but I missed the op.

Has anyone else noticed that the Eric Clapton strats can differ so much in the necks??

My buddy has a green one. He says they are pretty uncommon.

yes I think so - the frets are much smaller than on the Jimmie Vaughan I had.

I dont' play much guitar - mostly bass......but I think I like this a lot. I really liked the Jimmie vaughan I had - and will probably have another someday.

My guitar player has 3 of them - a 78 with a more narrow sharper V neck, a newer one with a pronounced, yet soft V and one in between with a sharper V, not quite like a Hard V, which was gutted/rewired without the TBX circuit.

This one has a slightly wider fretboard, soft v and after a lot of deliberation, a nice clean setup that has the strings very parallel to the fretboard at a nice medium height with just a hint of relief to teh fretboard. I think I am learning how to setup using the microtilt.

I changed out the saddles, because the original ones had stripped hexs and I like the smooth stainless ones. PC changed the pickguard to pearloid, and I think it looks good, so I left it like that.

I noticed that when I play it - it sounds almost like a strat - only with my crappy playing coming out of it!
