    GFS bridge/trem

I finally broke down & bought a new vintage-fit tremolo for one of my homegrown Strats. The price was ridiculously cheap at less than #30 for all the stuff. Anybody have experience w/this product?

Bummer! I used one of their blocks on a killer Strat I threw together. That guitar had a Yngwie pup in the neck and bridge, a non functioning mid pup (pulled the bars off an MIM pup), & wired like a Tele. Wish I woulda kept that guitar... It was a MIM bought at a local gun store for $150 with a hardshell case... Damn that was a sweet beast!

They're making me jump through a bunch of hoops now, sending pods from every conceivable angle. You'd think the one w/the ruler in it would suffice

Just when I was about to give up (reading a bunch of horror stories on the 'net about trying to get stuff returned/refunded w/GFS) I got an email saying that the correct trem has already been shipped out & they will contact me w/a return label for the wrong trem. My faith in humanity has been restored

    Re: GFS bridge/trem

They sent me the bridge I ordered w/a UPS return label in the box. I gave them back the incorrect bridge & installed the correct one.
It works fine, has cleared up some problems I originally thought were associated w/the frets, & away I go!
The trem block is no different than your basic, garden-variety block, though. You have to order the special GFS block (w/the shallow string counter-sink) separately. I misread the ad copy. Still a great deal, considering.

Gotcha! I'd ordered their special block for a Strat I'd built several years ago, it definitely improved the tone.

Yes, I'm hoping to invest in at least one of those soon-
