Roger Mayer Classic X w/ Wall Wart???

Just dug out some old stuff and tested the RM Classic X Fuzz... Works fine with a 9v Battery...

So, I plug in an adaptor where the Battery goes and it passes the Guitar thru when 'Off'... When 'On' all I get is a Horrendusly loud Hummmm... I checked the + and - to be correct, just like the 9v Battery...

I'm stumped... I thought DC was DC...???

    TIA for Ya'lls Help... :)

Try another wall wart, they are notorious for crapping out.

Oh well... It works off a 9v Battery and another Wall Wart all by itself...

The problem now is, it will not work in combination w/ other pedals...

I have... Tuner---H2O---Compressor/Sustain---Phaser---then the Classic Fuzz... All hooked up to a Wall Wart made for multiple pedals...

I've tried many combinations and it will not work with the other pedals... All I get is a Thump, Thump, Thump with the Fuzz 'On', and a Clear signal when 'Off'...

    I give up...
