I have own and tried quite a lot of teles and the neck pup usually is quite dull and boring, then i found the Squier pro tone series guitars and i fell for them!
On this tele i use the neck pup as much as the bridge, and they cost just about nothing :-)

Which amp are you playing through? What pedals?
If i remember it right, the intention was to wire the Vox AC15C1 with the Fender vibrochamp (actually a Bronco, but they are identical except the faceplate) in stereo, but the Ibanez DL10 somehow fased them out, so, only the AC15 and the DL10 (digital delay).
I have a Pro-tone strat to, SB and standard pup configuration, that one also is a great guitar, Pro-tones are very nice, if it wasn´t for the thin necks i would say they were/are in Fender standard league.
