You know what would be cool?

A Telecaster-style guitar that looked like it was made by C.F. Martin & Co.
It would have a weight-relieved (read chambered) rosewood body & a spruce top. All the binding & appointments that you would find on a D-35. Mahogany neck & ebony fingerboard.
    Yup, killer idea

3 piece back? electric or acoustic bridge? Electric or acoustic pickups (or both)?

It's been my experience that small box acoustics like that end up sounding like banjos strung with rubber bands. Hollow electrics, OTOH, like my old Nightbird, can sound pretty cool.
    Several guitars in different colors
    Things to make them fuzzy
    Things to make them louder
    orange picks

Like my Martin Backpacker. It sounds like a wooden banjo tuned like a guitar. It's not a bad sound if that's what you like.

As a hollow electric I like the idea. My Carvin AE-185 had some of those features.

    Slotted peghead - a must. :)

Yeah, a three piece back would be cool. As far as the bridge goes, it would have to resemble a Martin bridge & yet adjust properly. But maybe that's where the concept breaks down a bit.
I guess I'm thinking the body would be constructed a little like a Thinline (hollow) & a little like a Custom (binding). Just a stock Tele pickup config.

There's no reason why it wouldn't work.

My AE-185 had an acoustic style ebony bridge with a Tusq saddle (with a Baggs ribbon transducer under it) and intonated just fine all the way to the 24th fret. The action was great. It was an incredibly "playable" guitar.

It had an alder through neck with alder wings and a spruce top. It also had 2 humbuckers.

    Oh great.
I KNOW I have seen something like it somewhere.
    But now I can't recall.

There are some really organic Tele's in history.
Bigsby is one that comes to mind on looks alone.

Something along the lines of this but a little more traditional Martin and Tele combined?

    Uh. Huh.

    Should have known.
    Carvin keeps getting passed over.
    Shame?

Yes, more or less. That is the idea for the bridge, anyhow.
