    Ibanez TS9:

Are originals still going for stupid money or has the world come to its senses?
    Just asking-

I haven't priced one recently, but I think most players have come to their senses, and realized they can buy a true bypass hand tweaked clone for a lot less. Given the state of the economy, everything in the guitar collectible business is going for less than it used to.

    Not everything...

A few things- Princeton Reverbs and Gibson ES-225TDs, for instance have actually crept up a bit! I only really know about these items because I've followed them fairly closely. I can't find a decent one for anywhere near where I sold my clean '68 for back in 2008!

Paying a huge amount for a Tube Screamer is nuts! As Kap'n said, you can buy a better clone for less, or better yet, build one yourself!

Princeton Reverbs are going up mainly because everybody is downsizing. Folks were gigging Super Reverbs twenty years ago because PA's were bigger, bulkier and lower powered than they are today. And most of the folks who don't want channel switching amps aren't gigging every week anymore. They want something to kick back with at the house.

I've had several TS9 clones and my absolute favorite is an Analogman Modded TS9 (silver mod with a bright green led).

I absolutely love that pedal and I can't see paying an arm and leg for an original when there are SO MANY pedals that do it better for much less.

I still love a TS9 but my RI is just as good as my original; so much so that I forgot which is which & I have to take them apart to know!
