Can anyone recommend some drop-in replacement tuners for my Squier 50's Classic Vibe Tele? I love the guitar but I'm not digging the vintage style tuners at all.
Thanks!

Is the style or functionality the problem? Don't like the slotted posts?
I put some Grover Kluson style tuners on aCasino I had and they were great. Direct replacement for the crap "E" Kluson knock-offs that came stock.
Not sure if Grover makes them w/the slotted posts.
They're called Vintage Deluxe (136 series).

I don't like the slotted posts. They're a PITA when compared to the locking tuners I have on my other guitars. I'll look into the Grovers.
Thanks!
Really.
I wish all my guitars had slotted tuners.
Maybe they offer something locking w/the same footprint.
The I used those Grovers and some 18:1 Statites on an old Guild. I was very happy w/both.
If they don't I'm $ure $omeone doe$.

My TC-90 ( Fender) has some locking tuners that lock the post with a screwdriver
really neat design and soo hard to spot I had it for 2 years before i ever noticed they lock LOL
+1
I've gone as far as putting Kluson nickel Mosrite style 3x3 split shaft (AKA safety post) tuners on my Gibsons.
Lighter weight than Grovers or the like and very stable tuning. If my CV tuners were slipping (mine never have) I'd upgade to a set of Gotoh vintage replacement split shafts. The stock CV tuners are at the lower end of the scale. The top line Gotohs are much better "vintage style" split shafts.
A buddy of mine gave me a set of Gotoh locking tuners he bought but never used. I installed them this afternoon and I couldn't be happier with them.
I like slotted tuners.
