I downloaded this software and have been using it - the mic options for the cabinet are so cool. Its amazing that they can make this stuff this good but still can not get a decent overdrive sound.

I noticed that too, the distortions sound harsh to my ears
I prefer the live amp distortion recorded
UNLESS direct recording straight into the board
    Then Maybe
I prefer Vandal to AT in that scenario
BUT on my iPhone, in a hotel somewhere,
    AT rocks
But I prefer real amps recording

Well, I need to retract my statement above about the distortion sounds in Amplitube 3. My POD stopped working and I rigged a stereo plug to go from my tuner to my MAC's sound card....Ive been cranking the amps and gain...its the OD pedal in the free version that sucks... I think if you have not downloaded the free version you most certainly should. I love this app.

I find it a bit noisy ....using my MacBook Pro with iRig interface....any suggestions for noise reduction? Turn off wifi maybe?

Still finding better tones here after years of use. My new Esquire has driven me to tweak this thing more. I had never used either of the equilizers... Duh... trim off the treble please...and oh, turn up the input, amp volume, turn down the output - better distortion that cleans up at the volume knob.

If you have not downloaded this for free, its the perfect chance to jump into using your computer to shape your electric guitar sounds. Not an amp, but not so bad either.
