    1967 Tele

I won an auction a week or so ago. I picked up a 1967 telecaster. With a dozen guys bidding, 4 standing bids and a phone bidder, I won.

I was surprised. I went a little higher than I wanted, but not nearly the street price of these. It's been stripped and refinished with poly, not good, and had a black pickguard put on, I suppose to make it look like a '52. Other than that it is original.

I discovered it was from an estate sale. I located the attorney and he confirmed it's condition and the identity of the owner. He told me he had taken it to several guitar stores to be checked out and had the paperwork.

So it's my new toy. I'm pretty happy right now.

Looks great to me, like the ones from the early 50ies, played a lot and thats for a reason, I would recommend: stay as is and play!
    Great catch anyway.

    My face hurts.

    It's contorted with lust!
Look at the wear marks on that board...previous owner left few stones untouched.

Congrats and welcome to the tribe.

Geez, Louise, I can't find my knees--that's a great purchase.

Awesome score! Fantastic looking Tele too. Having a Tele from the year I was born would be the frickin' bomb.

Or from the year I was born would really be something, LOL!

    Great Tele.

It's a wonderful guitar. I'd ruin its value immediately by giving it a new paint job. Guess that's why it's better that I prefer contemporary guitars.

    Man, that's a nice purchase.

I would love to hear more details, especially the weight and the neck profile. Will you give it a refin, perhaps in nitro?

I take back what I said about giving it a paint job. That guitar is beautiful as it is.
