    Adding a Decal

I have a Warmoth Strat and did not like the look of the sticker they provide for the headstock. I am thinking about getting a decal of some design because the headstock looks odd with nothing on it. If I add a decal now, after the finish has been on it, would I have to put some finish over it or would the decal be okay laying on top of the satin finish?

Fender used to put their decal over the top of the finish. It's very delicate that way and you can see the edges that way.

I always spray a light coat of gloss lacquer 48 hours after installing a "neat headstock accessory"......just enough to "permanize" it so it doesn't flake off forty years from now.
