Ch Willie's going to jam with a bud

Friend o mine from across the waters is coming to jam and visit. We haven't seen each other in 7 years. We've stayed in touch, and I can't wait to see him. He's just bought a 335 w/block inlays. He hasn't seen my Strat or my Les Paul. We're also going to hit Memphis, maybe go to BBs. Either way, it's going to be a party.

Got a pal you like to jam with?

This may be blasphemy, but I think every kind of BBQ is great.

Except at chain restaurants like Tony Roma's.

Also: Real Carolina BBQ is the best.

But still...all BBQ is great. How can you go wrong with slow-smoked meats?!

My Bud has been a blues fan all his adult life. He turned me onto the blues. We're both big fans of BB and Eric Clappschlapp. Also, it will be nice to have the conversation.

I've been out of Germany for 6 years now, and I still miss the conversations with people there. My bud and I have a lot of catching up to do, some of it through golden conversations, some through pickin' and grinnin'

Golden conversations? Would that be a reference to the Universal Translator technology based on barley and hops in liquid form?

Certainly based on the gold qualities of some plants.

I got a Bud I have been playing with him on and off for twenty years or more. I like how our band sounds when we are paying attention to dynamics and volume levels. We still like to talk about everything music yet.

My drummer always jams with his bud. I wish he wouldn't. (we need a bad drummer smiley)

Barbecue?! Now that's real food. A few years back, I was visiting my brother in TX, and we hopped in his convertible RX-7 and drove down to Cooper's in Llano. Damn, that was good.

I ate enough for 2 Thanksgiving dinners...

I deny it all. LSD stands for Lucy in the Sky with Bob Dylan.

Seriously, my favorite guitar pal is coming to visit. We've got a lot of songs in common that we like to play. I'm a bit isolated where I am, so it's going to be cool to have another idiot like me around. The wife is just too glad that I'll be occupied.

All the Tony Roma's in Tucson got boarded up about 18 months ago -- the chain may have in fact gone "Tango Uniform". They weren't my favorite but hey, they weren't bad. I'm with you -- I like all barbecue. Even (yeah yeah, call me dinky-dao) Vietnamese, Korean, and Mongolian.

    Bon appetit, mes amis!

Ok, ok, I get it. I'll be taking my pal to eat some good BBQ. I've got a cousin who stays up all night with a pig on the spit. Tender and tasty.
