Fatboy Pat Pend Strat saddles + VC knobs (pics)

Took some pix yesterday and thought I'd share. The knobs are Vintage Clone nylon. I did a little aging on them. Really makes the numbers on the stock Fender knobs look huge.

Nice work Brian!. I have looked at the nylon knobs from Fatboy, they are pricey but I am sure they are worth it. Does anyone know whether sunlight or will yellow the nylon? I made a great set of yellowed pickup covers (including miniature surface checking) by simply putting them outdoors for a year. I love Pat Pend Saddles they really complete a vintage repro.

Wow, a year - that's dedication! I used a little brown furniture powder from StewMac that I find has a lot of uses. Also some of their new "fabric" micromesh sandpaper - 4000 grit, I think. Just to rough up the surfaces slightly. This really helped in some shoe polish "biting" and yellowing the pickup covers a bit. The covers are waiting for a set of Mare pickups I hope to see in a week or two :)
