    Vintage Cokebottle 6V6G-Safe for 5E3?

I grabbed a couple of NOS Sylvania 6V6G's from an antique store last weekend.
    5 bux each.

They tested good on the Hickok 6000A, (3450/3500).
I'm wondering if the old 6V6's would be safe to try out in the 5E3 Tweed Deluxe?

I tried each of them in my single ended lead-it only runs 360VDC on the plates. Sounded good and didn't run too hot.
I Don't recall exactly where I ended up
voltage-wise on the 5E3, but it is stock.

    What say ye?
Plug 'em in and see if they melt?

Advise from elsewhere said "go for it".

Each baby step I take seems to make this amp even better, and my only complaint was it was too loud.

This amp seems to love these old 6V6's.
Running relatively cool (temp), which is a good thing because they are too close together.
    They almost touch each other.

Thet should live a good life at 360 volts.

    Do they sound good?
It's great that good, old 6V6s are available so cheaply, lets you experiment a bit!

    Cheap?
    Available?

Not so sure about finding NOS 6V6G's at all.
    Not that I would know.
I'm still living off many freebies-I have a great collection of 6SN7's!
So much so that I design amps around them (great sounding power tube BTW, if you're aiming for just a couple of watts).

These are the first cokebottle style 6V6's I have acquired and unused NOS at that.
I figured the limited application keeps the price low.
    They sound great!
