I have 2 single coil picups I think I was told they are "Texas Specials".
Can someone tell me if they are?
Both have black bobbins, staggered pole pieces and wire that is a deep purpleish-brown color. Both also have the fender Custom Shop sticker on the back
Pickup 1 measures 6.2K Ohms and has a small blue dot on the back
Pickup 2 Does not measure anything ( probably a broken wire) and has a small red dot on it.

Yes the magnets are NON beveled...
another thing. I have a nother Strat that is a HSS configuration. The humbucker has a screw pole and a slug pole..which side is supposed to face the bridge?

If they are Texas Specials the Bridge pickup pole piece for the top (highest pitch) E string is set flush with the cover. On the middle & neck pickups the poles protrude further.

They only have the sticker if they are bought separately. If you buy a Strat already equiped with Texas Specials...ie SRV model, there will be no Custom Shop sticker.Custom Shop sticker on the back
has anybody had any experience with alnico 4 telecaster pickups or any alnico 4 pickups?..what is the biggest difference from alnico2 to alnico3 and 3 to 5??
