    True, very true.

I have interested in the Lollars in the past. I just haven't been impressed withthe ones I've heard in the Nash's. I dunno if it's the guitar (which I won't comment on) or the pickups which I believe are the Blonde/Blonde/Special setup.

My new Grosh's are pretty amazing though. Like them much much better than the Fralins...and that's sayin a whole lot.

How are they diff from Fralin VH? the VH are kinda like the baseline/ruler against which other Strat Pus are measured IMO. If they are better than VH, then they must be way above average...

Don Grosh & Co. are perfectionist. I'll put it this way, I've loved me some Fralin Vintage Hots, not so much the Blues Specials, too warm for me. I tried some Suhr FL's too but Fralins were the standard.

Grosh's baseline pickups have been Dimarzio's with the Fralins as an upgrade, of couse most folks who invest in a Grosh have went with the Fralins. Fralin was his main pickup supplier out of all the choices on the market.

So, when Grosh set out to come up with his own pickups, his standard was already set way high and they didn't stop designing and spec'ing them until they outdid Fralin. That's the best way I know to put it.

Grosh's Vintage 60 neck pickup made my Fralin VH neck sound muddy. And the Grosh isn't weak and thin and punny at all. It's big, punchy, round but clear and sparkly as anything I've ever heard. I know they are spec'ing better materials the Fralin (wire, magnets, flatwork, etc.). They have done their homework.

flatpole in da neck - played it through the '67 PR. incredibly bright considering it's not his brightest. i'd say somewhere between a Fralin vintage and VH...

Between a Vintage and VH? I'm only familiar with his Real 54's (Alnico III) and VH's. Didn't know there was a "Vintage set".

    Underwound VH's?
